   Leave the village to the north and within 45 minutes drive, sea and sand give way to mountain passes and spectacular walking. This forgotten region is steeped in history with fabulous walled cities like Carcassonne, Aigues-Mortes and Arles, where Van Gogh loved the town too much for his ear. There is plenty to see without going too far...Cycle through the vineyards of Picpoul or visit the oyster farms along the banks of the lake.
